Swimming pool Thomas Mann

Swimming pool in Prenzlauer Berg was built in 1978 as a GDR “Type C community swimming pool” with a precast reinforced concrete construction. The wide-span, cantilevered roof profile, called “VT-folding”, gives the building its distinctive appearance. The pink lockers that dominated the changing rooms of the original building are taken as the starting point for the new internal colour scheme. This colour tone reappears in the tiled floor of the hall and in the new acoustic ceiling.
